Let's Finish Erie Community Park

Nestled between the Erie Community Library of High Plains Library District, Erie Community Center, an already active community park and Erie Medical Center, sits a wonderful and unique opportunity to create the ultimate community friendly Colorado experience for the Erie community’s fitness enthusiasts, cyclists, youth, active adults and everyone in between. While all parks are vital to communities, Erie Community Park Final Phase is an opportunity to integrate a community health and fitness component, seamlessly incorporated with a bike pump track, distinctive play equipment, sport courts, shelters and passive use areas. Finishing Erie Community Park will provide the Erie community to get outdoors to learn, recreate and socialize for generations to come. The project will include earthwork, drainage improvements, utilities, a custom shelter/restroom facility, walking trails, outdoor reading rooms, basketball courts, fitness amenities, sledding hill, asphalt bike pump track, and an energy awareness themed playground.

It takes a great team to complete this project, so we'd like to thank our project partners:

We would also like to thank our funding partners, Great Outdoors Colorado, Department of Local Affairs, and the Regional Air Quality Council who have contributed over $1.1M in grant funds for this project!

    As many of you know, Parks & Recreation is managing the construction of Erie Community Park - Final Phase adjacent to the Erie Community Center and the library. It’s been a great project so far - so great that we want to share it with as many people as possible!

    We would like to extend an invitation you, your family, friends, and neighbors, to come tour the site with Luke Bolinger, Special Projects Manager from Parks & Recreation and get an in-depth look at what is happening at the park during its construction. It looks different walking the site versus driving by on your way into work.

    Here are the details:

    • Three dates: 9/25, 10/16, 11/13 - Saturdays, from 9a-10a;
    • We will meet in the Library’s parking lot and walk over to the construction entrance;
    • I’ll supply sanitized hard hats and work vests for each tour, up to 13;
    • Requirements are closed toed shoes, long pants, and about an hour of your day;
    • Sign up at the link below. You’ll sign a participant waiver on the day of your tour prior to us stepping off;
    • Of course, a light snack/coffee will be provided!

    Hope to see you there!
