As a Tree City USA program participant for over 20-years, Erie residents have demonstrated their long-term love affair with trees. Trees provide many benefits including cleaning the air, reducing stress, cooling ground and air temperatures, and helps us save money at home on cooling and heating costs.

What are your favorite trees in Erie, Colorado? Through October 31, 2021, Erie residents are invited to post a picture or tell us a story about their favorite Erie tree for a chance to win a chance for a $25 Sweets gift card or a $200 nursery gift certificate for a new tree to plant at home. This is open to Erie residents only, with a limit of 2 entries per household.

If you are wondering what tree to choose for your yard, check out the 10 trees below that grow well in Erie's environment. Post a picture of yourself with one of these trees for a bonus entry. *Hint* They can all be found around the Erie Community Center.
